Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins. During an RFA procedure, your vein specialist will insert a thin catheter directly into the unhealthy vein through your skin. The catheter emits radio waves, which heat specific areas of the affected vein, causing it to close. When your doctor removes the catheter, the healing process will begin almost immediately. The closed vein is then reabsorbed into the body and the blood supply in that area is naturally rerouted through other, healthier veins. The procedure is performed under ultrasound guidance, allowing the physician to treat the targeted area accurately and safely. RFA requires only local anesthesia and is performed in the office in under one hour with minor discomfort and just a few hours of recovery time.
Our Board Certified Surgeon uses ultrasound to guide the injection of the Microfoam into the target veins. The foam fills the veins, clearing the veins, and causes the veins to collapse. The veins seal and reabsorbs into the body during the following weeks. When the malfunctioning vein collapses, blood flow shifts to healthier veins nearby.Treatments depend on how many veins are present. It is not uncommon to have one session per leg. Additional treatment may be needed, depending on the number and size of veins to be treated.
The physicians at Innovative Vein Center are highly experienced in the treatment of venous disease. During the evaluation appointment,a full exam will be completed. An ultrasound exam may be completed, and develop a personalized treatment plan to address your condition. Al of treatments performed at IVC are considered minimally invasive and are associated with minimal pain and faster recovery time.
Perforator veins connect the superficial venous system to the deep venous system. If the valves in the perforator veins become damaged it can cause the superficial venous system to work poorly and cause varicose veins and other associated symptoms. We are committed and understand the importance to diagnose and treat the full disease to achieve complete symptom relief and long-term results. Our experienced team will make treatment recommendations with you to obtain the very best results and outcomes.
We provide assistance with chronic venous insufficiency.
You may consider being evaluated if you experience:
Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen, and twisting veins often appearing blue or dark purple. They occur when faulty valves in the veins allow blood to flow in the wrong direction or to pool.
Bulging Veins (Perforator)
Perforator veins are deeper veins that can affect the more superficial veins when not functioning properly. This can cause edema, skin discoloration, rashes and skin ulcers in the immediate area.
Leg swelling from varicose veins can vary from mild swelling at the ankles to full-blown edema, which can make it difficult to put on shoes. When a result of vein leakage, swelling typically worsens as the day progresses and settles in the ankles.
Leaking varicose veins cause blood to pool and waste products to accumulate in the leg. Due to the buildup of pressure and fluid in the leg, persons with vein problems can experience leg aching, heaviness and fatigue of the leg, which typically worsens as the day progresses.
Aching, Burning, or Throbbing Legs
Painful, leg cramps and uncomfortable, restless legs can be related to vein disease. Many times, these dull, achy sensations are really a sign of damaged veins. Many patients that have veins treated experience improvement with Restless Leg Syndrome.
Leg ulcers are a miserable complication of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), affecting up to a third of patients with CVI.. Swelling, rashes and brown discoloration develop due to poor return of blood back to the heart. Toxins accumulate and ultimately the skin will break down.

Hello Pooler & Hardeeville!
What our customers say
I wanted to thank everyone at this facility for the quality of care and compassion they showed during my stay. I went into the emergency room . The staff in every part of the hospital was friendly, they made me laugh which kept my spirits up.
Today is my last day of infusion. But I know I will be back …not as a patient but a visitor. I have only positive things to say about the nurses at Healther here in infusion and also on the 4th Floor. They all called me by my name when I walked in the door.
